When I was in the fourth grade, I won an award for writing a short story called “Hangin’ ‘Round.” It was about imaginary clothespins hanging on a laundry line talking to each other. The clothespins dis on an old lady hanging up her crappy muu muus until they’re eventually tossed back into a bag. There must have been more of a plot, or maybe the judges understood it as brilliant commentary on the banality of life.
I’m not writing a novel here.
It’s a blog called Fork Story.
